Weekend of October 12th

I apologize for the delay .... but I hope some of you will be able to make it to some of these events.

1.
Texas Renaissance Festival started last weekend; this is very famous and it will go on till Thanksgiving. Let's try to go there next weekend ... it will be all day event. Stay tuned for details during the week.

2.
Miller Theater ..... has something going on tonite. The weather is nice so .. why not ? Btw... KPFT Fall Concert Series features on Sunday at 4 PM.

3.
Indian event at Reliant Areana ... this is dancing and a lot of fun. Never been there though. It happens both days this weekend, and next weekend. (Friday and Saturday); tickets are $8

4.
Bayou City Art Festival in Houston Downtown; this happens on Saturday and Sunday; tickets are $10

5.
Houston Turkish Festival is going on this weekend.

Here's what's going on in H-Town this weekend:

1. The greek festival is in town: October 4, 5, 6, 7;
this is the 41st Annual Greek Fetival.

2. MFAH: Museum of Fine Arts, Houston shows movies as well. They are showing a 102 minute long prize winning Brazillian Movie this Thursday (Oct. 4th). Also note that MFAH is free on Thursdays

3. Never knew that Yale Street in Heights hosts an Artist Market once a month; checkout the market.
4. Texas Renaissance Festival starts this weekend; this is very famous and it will go on till Thanksgiving.

Weather is going to by fun. Hot! But then Houtonians don't get worried about that ... right? At least its not going to rain.

Georgian State Dance Company: Georgia was known to many as the California of the former Soviet Union, because of its rich, fertile land, sunny valleys, majestic forests and, not least of all, its excellent wine! 3. Book Discussion: Saturday 2-3 PM at Barnes and Noble, 3003 W.Holcombe Blvd.: D. Michael Lindsay, Rice assistant professor of sociology and author of the Pulitzer-nominated "Faith in the Halls of Power, How Evangelicals Joined the American Elite," will discuss his new book.
